Kaitlin starts new position as Head of Musical Theatre at Texas State University in San Marcos Texas. For more information on the school and the program visit www.theatreanddance.txstate.edu. Her husband Jim Price will join her on the faculty teaching Acting and Playwriting. Broadway veteran and pal Robin Lewis will also join Kaitlin and Jim on the Musical Theater faculty to design and teach the Musical Theatre Dance program.

Kaitlin's father Gene Persson, Broadway and film producer, passed away due to a heart attack. Best known for producing "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" and "Dutchman" he lived in New York City and was survived by his wife of 38 years Ruby Persson and his two sons Lukas and Markus Persson.

Kaitlin and Jim sing a concert in Jim's hometown of Hillsdale, Michigan with the local Arts Chorale to honor the retirement of Jim's high school music teacher and Chorale director Howard Rizner.

Kaitlin performs live radio play "Too Many Have Lived" a Sam Spade short story, as part of the Dashiell Hammett series for Blackstone Audio in New York City. Cast includes Richard Allen, Jeff Woodman, George Guidall and Richard Ferrone.

We will spend a short time discussing the technical aspects and terminology of how to work in front of a camera and give an overview of how each medium differs--soaps, sit-coms, film and one –hour dramas. We will talk about what is expected of an actor on a set, how to prepare to meet those expectations, and we will also allow time for questions. The majority of the time will be spent on work sessions in front of the camera. We will provide an audition scene (if needed) to each participant in advance and create a mock audition environment. We will then playback each scene and discuss what is working and identify areas for improvement. It is a unique opportunity to see what the casting directors and producers see when they review audition tapes. This class is also offered as an audit for those who wish to attend but do not want their own work session.

Things They Don’t Teach in School--How To Succeed in “The Business” with Shirley Knight and Kaitlin Hopkins

For the first hour this panel will focus on making the transition into show business and what to expect---how to arm yourself with the tools you need both in your training and your mental preparation to succeed in the acting world. This forum will be helpful to both young and working actors. The second hour will be more of a forum to share and discuss what we all struggle with as artists in our lives and how to meet those challenges in a positive, healthy way. We will discuss ways you can actively protect yourself and avoid self-sabotage, whether you are sitting in a waiting room, stressing at home, or just plain getting in your own way. This class will focus on how to harness your innate talent, how to trust what is extraordinary and unique about you and how to bring that into the audition room and eventually on to the stage. These issues are all things we experience no matter how successful we become. Get a leg up and a head start on them with this class.

This is an amazing opportunity for growth and creative exploration for any actor or singer who wants to hone their craft. Everyone is welcome, beginner to seasoned pro--the only requirement is to bring a short scene or monologue, fully memorized. Kaitlin flies to Los Angeles to do a workshop of a new musical by Steven Lutvak and Robert Freedman called “Campaign of the Century”. The show recently won the California Musical Theatre Award. The workshop was produced by The Beverly Hills Theatre Guild. The cast included; John Rubinstein, Josh Radnor, Corinne Kason, Michael Kostrof and Stan Chandler. Lutvak and Freedman’s other new show “Kind Heart and Coronets” recently won The Kleban Award and is being done at Sundance in July. Also won The Fred Ebb Award.

Kaitlin and boyfriend Jim Price go to Perry-Mansfield in Steam Boat Springs Colorado to do a workshop of “Fools for Broadway”, composer/lyricist Joe Patrick Ward, book by Kenny Finkle, directed by Peter Flynn.
Cast includes Jenny Powers, Seth Rudetsky and Sharon Wilkes. Kaitlin and Jim teach a master class while they are there in acting, musical theater performance and auditioning to the kids attending the musical theater summer camp at Perry- Mansfield.

June 28,2006-After 5 wonderful years together Kaitlin and longtime boyfriend Jim Price get engaged.

May, 2006- Kaitlin shoots film of “The Nanny Diaries” with Scarlett Johansson, Laura Linney Paul Giamatti and Donna Murphy. She plays “Bitsy”,one of the upper eastside mothers going through a divorce. Kaitlin wore $300,000 worth of jewelry, Prada shoes and Dolce and Gabbana cloths and loved every minute of it. She got to keep the sunglasses.

Kaitlin does reading of Deb Winers new play “Rock, Paper, Scissors” at The Actors Studio. Cast included John Bolton and Marni Nixon.
The Play is read again on July 11th with Shirley Knight, Carlin Glynn and Jim Price.

The next few weeks is spent in London and Paris. Kaitlin, her mother (Shirley Knight) and her boyfriend (“Ring of Fire” Jim Price) attend a month long tribute to her late step-father, writer John R. Hopkins at The British Film Institute. They attend many screenings of films and television programs written by John Hopkins during his years at the BBC and The National Theatre.

May 25,2006-The Queer Song Book- I Hate Music the Songs of Glen Roven. Kaitlin performs in a concert to benefit The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center. It is an evening of composer Glenn Roven’s music. Other performers included Doug Sills,Donna McKechnie, Sandy Duncan, Kevin Chamberlin and Sal Viviano.

April 14,2006-Kaitlin plays the Sally Field role in the musical version of “Soap Dish” opposite Chris Sieber. Music by Mark Hollmann (“Urine Town”), book by Robert Harling, directed by Jason Moore. Other cast members included Leslie Kritzer and Emily Skinner.

April 26 thru 29, 2006

Kaitlin goes to Independence Kansas to attend the 25th Anniversary of The William Inge Festival. She has been an advisory board member since 1984. The festival celebrates playwrights and offers workshops, panels, readings and performances by some of our great artists in the business. This year, playwright’s Tina Howe, Mary Portser, Jason Milligan, Melanie Marnich, Lee Blessing, David Hirson were there along with actors, directors, producers and academics from all over the country. Kaitlin performed at the tributes and taught several master classes.

March 2006

In March Kaitlin went to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend The Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival, where she judged the Irene Ryan Awards and taught master classes in Acting, Musical Theater Performance, Auditioning, and A Singers Survival Guide. This is a wonderful program that acknowledges actors, writers and directors from universities all across the country.

February 17, 2006

Kaitlin plays opposite Douglas Sills in a workshop production of Andrew Lippa and Daniel Goldfarb’s new musical “Jerry Christmas”. It is an amazing show. Other cast members included Celia Keenan-Bolger, Adrienne Lennox, Brad Oscar and Jenn Harris.

January 10th,2006- "Law and Order SVU" airs, episode title "Blast".

Deceember,2005-Kaitlin starred opposite Brent Barrett and Shuler Hensley in the workshop of Glen Roven's musical THE FIVE THOUSAND FINGERS OF DR T, directed by Susan Shulman.

December 9th-2005-Kaitlin begins shooting a guest starring role on "Law and Order SVU". The episode titled "Blast" airs January 10th, 2006 on NBC.

January thru July 2005-Completes a seven month National Tour of Disney's ON THE RECORD with pals Ashley Brown,Brian Sutherland and Andrew Salmonsky.Directed by Robert Longbottom. Cast album available.

July thru December 2005-Kaitlin returned to New York to star in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL. The production ran thru December 4th at Dodger Stages with Shuler Hensley, Orfeh, Linda Hart, Wayne Wilcox, Leslie Kritzer and Mayra Grandy. The cast album hits record stores January 26th, 2006.

2004-November/December

Kaitlin joins the touring cast of Disney's "On The Record" and opens in St Paul at the Ordway Theatre on December 31st. December 6th-Kailtin does two performances (as part of the backers audition) of Chris Durang and Peter Melnick's new musical "Adrift in Macao" directed by Sheryl Kaller.

Kaitlin shoots film with Julianne Moore called, "Trust The Man."

November 18th and 19th-Kaitlin joins the cast of "The Screams of Kitty Genovese," libretto and story by David Simpatico, music by Will Todd, directed by John Caird at The Public Theatre.Cast includes Darius DeHaas, and Barbara Walsh.

Kaitlin does a reading of Joan Rivers new theatre project for The Roundabout, directed by Lonnie Price.

October-Kaitlin does a workshop at MTC of a new hip-hop musical called "No Boundaries," produced by Liz Oliver.

Kaitlin performs new musical, "Party Come Here" for The Roundabout Theatre donor series at the American Airlines Theatre. Book by Daniel Goldfarb, lyrics and music by David Kirshenbaum, directed by Jason Moore. Cast included Neal Patrick Harris, Mark Nelson, Marcy Harriell, Molly Bell, and Chip Zien. Last year Kaitlin did the new play "Girl in the Goldfish Bowl," by Morris Panych, also directed by Jason Moore, for the same event.

Kaitlin does reading for The York Theatre, of "Henry, Sweet Henry," directed by Gordon Greenberg. Cast included Miriam Shor, Mark Nelson, and Matthew Arkin.

Sept 2004 -Kaitlin joins the cast of "Rescue Me" in a recurring role, playing the mother of a gay teenage girl.

August 2004- Kaitlin goes into the studio with the band from BARE to record her first solo CD, "Make Me Sweat." The CD is all original music written by Jim Price.

July 2004- Kaitlin stars in the concert version of "Only a Kingdom" at Guild Hall in East Hampton Long Island on July 9th, 10th and 11th. Cast includes: JoAnne Worley, Marni Nixon, Ted Hartley, Dina Merrill, Tom Sellwood and Jim Price.

Kaitlin joins the cast and band of "BARE" for an evening of music at Joe's Pub to raise money for Equity Fights Aids, sponsored by Broadwayworld.com, for three nights in July..

Kaitlin attends The Southampton Writer's Conference with Diane Wiest, to read Chris Durang's new play "Miss Witherspoon." The play was commissioned by The Macarter Theatre and will be produced there next season.

Kaitlin goes to Vasser's New York Stage and Film to star in a workshop of a new musical by David Forman called "Dollface," directed by Sheryl Kaller.

April,2004-Kaitlin will be joining the cast of the new pop opera "BARE.". It will open April 8 and run thru May 31 at ATA. The show is written by Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere and directed by Kristin Hanggi.

February,2004-Kaitlin begins performances February 3rd thru March 28th of "Beautiful Child" a new play by Nicky Silver, directed by Terry Kinney at The Vineyard Theatre. Cast includes: Penny Fuller, Alex Gersten-Vassilaros, George Grizzard and Steven Pasquale.

April,2003-Kaitlin shot the pilot, "The Big Wide World of Carl Lemke" for FOX. The pilot starred Bob Odenkirk.    

Kaitlin performs with Michael Feinstein at The Mark Taper Forum. The name of show was "The Great American Song Book," directed by Gordon Hunt.
